My World
New York to Massachusetts to Pennsylvania to Tennessee to Maryland to Florida to Kentucky and then finally to Idaho. That's been my footpath for the past <many> years. Home is where the heart is, and for the last ten years it's been here at Scofield Ranch, now Rising Sun Ranch since we lost our minds and bought the ranch. When I graduated college in Kentucky, I drove across the country with all of my belongings, my dog and my horse thinking Idaho was just one more stop along the way, and ended up staying. I blame the boy.
Horses have always been a big part of my life, and now a very big horse is my main focus, the ever-adorable Hero. An over 17hh, 13 year old, 1600lb Shire gelding with the strangest grey coloring. A chance encounter with a Craigslist ad brought him into our lives, and nothing will ever be the same here, especially the feed bills. I think I'll give him his own page here, since he's so well loved, the big clown.
And of course, the SCA. Our biggest hobby and gigantic time-suck. From costuming to archery to casting to heavy fighting and so much in between, Ronan and I participate in damn near everything one can do in the SCA, and it keeps up quite busy. Ronan has played since he was 18 but I only got involved after we were married in '06. I so admired the beautiful dresses that I taught myself how to sew so I could have some of my own. I'm constantly making more garb, especially for Ronan the Clotheshorse, and occasionally for myself. I'll have a sewing page/blog with my current projects up Here as soon as I get a chance.
